The Architect’s Inn- George Champlin Mason House was constructed in 1873 as the palatial, private residence of George C. Mason, the famous Newport architect. This original 23-room Victorian mansion offers graciously appointed historic rooms. The home is decorated in period furnishings, original materials and each guest room is unique designed to evoke history whether it be the life of a servant to the master of the house. The Top of the Hill location is the best location in Newport for the beach goer to the average mansion tourist to the romantics. Newport has so much to offer as the New World's original beach resort town and more recently became famous for having the world's largest number of historic architectural buildings in one town.

Inn Bliss
10 Bliss Road
Newport, RI 02840

The Inn Bliss Bed & Breakfast is one of Newport's most comfortable Inns. Not your typical B&B, it's like staying with friends. The rooms are charming, comfortable and clean. The location is walkable to downtown yet still in a quiet neighborhood. The owners are young, energetic and keep things casual and fresh. Free WiFi, parking, hot tub and concierge are just a few of the amenities. The Victorian house became an Inn in 2003 and became very popular for its creative packages and amazing prices. Once everyone tasted our cooking, Inn Bliss then became known for its breakfasts. The owners later purchased the Inn Bliss-George Champlin Mason House which is the big sister of Inn Bliss. Together, the two historic properties are a magnet for fun-loving B&B goers with an appreciation for antiques and history.

presentation of select historic lodging accommodations,

including bed & breakfasts, inns, hotels and lodges worldwide.

Historic lodging facilities (Stays) are demonstrably

significant to world history with respect to their architecture,

engineering, archeology or culture, as well as their location,

design, materials, workmanship, feeling or association.

Historic bed & breakfasts, inns, hotels and lodges offer

travelers a truly unique and memorable lodging experience.

They provide visitors a genuine opportunity to

connect with the past, while enjoying restful lodging,

excellent cuisine, gracious hospitality and more.

Sadly, countless historically significant structures

have been (and continue to be) lost forever.

Many of those that endure, do so largely because of the

vision, passion and dedication of devoted and enterprising

proprietors, companies and others, who (usually after great effort

and expense) offer them as living, interactive lodging facilities

reflecting the rich historical fabric within which they are woven.
